FC Barcelona Joins Other Nike-Outfitted Clubs in Honoring Women’s Game With New Third Kit – SportsLogos.Net News


Like other high-profile Nike-outfitted teams this season, Spanish La Liga giants FC Barcelona are honoring the women’s game with their new third kits for 2024-25.

Barça unveiled the new kits on Tuesday, September 17 — three weeks later than the other Nike third kits were launched. Like the others, the double Nike swoosh on the right chest that is oriented vertically as a nod “to the acceleration of the women’s game.”

Barça’s kit has a neon green tonal pattern all over that “symbolises prosperity, growth, and progress in the fight for equality,” according to the club’s website. “Green, known for its connection to hope and rebirth, represents the dawn of a new era of equality and solidarity among women and reaffirms the club’s commitment to a prosperous future through an unbreakable alliance.”

The Nike chest logo features one large blue swoosh and one smaller red swoosh. The club crest is rendered in blue and neon green, and the logo of sponsor Spotify appears on the front of the shirt in blue.

The club didn’t indicate in Tuesday’s unveiling when the green third kits would make their on-field debut.


🇩🇪 BAYERN MUNICH – Oktoberfest Kit

German Bundesliga powerhouses Bayern Munich are keeping an early season tradition from recent years going with the release of their 2024 Oktoberfest kit. The club previously released kits honoring the annual beer festival in 2021, 2022 and 2023, but the 2024 version introduces a dark grey base while keeping the same diamond pattern woven into the fabric and classic Adidas trefoil logo found on Bayern’s third kit for 2024-25. The club’s specially designed Oktoberfest — a shield with the diamonds from the Bavarian flag, with “Bayern München” written around it in a blackletter font — appears on the left chest of the kit and on items in an accompanying apparel collection.

ASTON VILLA – Third Kit

English Premier League side Aston Villa debuted their new third kit for 2024-25, made by Adidas, on Tuesday, September 17, during their UEFA Champions League match against Swiss side BSC Young Boys. The base of the kit is navy blue with metallic silver and black horizontal pinstripes on the front. The Adidas shoulder stripes are metallic silver, and the club crest is rendered in navy blue, silver and black. While the logo of betting firm Betano appears on the kit in Premier League matches, Villa had the logo of Acorns hospice in that space on Tuesday.


WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS – Third Kit

Fellow Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers are pushing the boat out with their 2024-25 third kit, made by Sudu. The kit has a “hyper violet” base with a heather pattern all over. The wolf’s head from the club crest is isolated and set on the left chest in red, and sponsor logos on the chest and sleeves are also one-color red.


🇪🇸 REAL SOCIEDAD – Special Edition Kit

Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad paid tribute to a real renaissance man with the kit they wore in their match against Real Madrid on Saturday, September 14. The kit honored Eduardo Chillida, who was born in 1924 and played as a goalkeeper for Sociedad during the 1942-43 season before a knee injury ended his football career. But Chillida went on to have a successful career as an artist, with his prize-winning sculptures being displayed in more than 500 solo exhibitions in cities like New York, Madrid and Bilbao. The kit features a reproduction of one of Chillida’s works on paper, “Abiagune II,” which he created in 2001, just before he passed away in 2002. There is also an inscription on the chest and a Chillida centenary logo on the back collar.


🇩🇪 VfB STUTTGART – Champions League Home Kit

German side VfB Stuttgart are marking their first season back in the Champions League since 2009-10 with a special home kit for the competition, made by Jako. The focus of the kit is the red band across the chest of the white shirt, which the club says “connects the entire VfB family with all of these moments.” A tonal pattern inside the red band is made of the “VfB” initials from the club crest in varying sizes and opacities. Thin red lines run above and below the band, as well as on the sleeve cuffs and around the polo collar. A “VfB” monogram is embroidered on the back of the collar in gold.

VfB Stuttgart didn’t have the chance to break out the jerseys this week, though, as their first Champions League match on Tuesday was a visit to Spanish powerhouses Real Madrid, who also wear white at home. VfB donned a version of their red away kit without the logo of their sponsor, betting firm Winamax, in the white band across the chest.


🇮🇹 UDINESE CALCIO – Third Kit

Football meets fashion with Italian Serie A side Udinese Calcio’s third kit for 2024-25, manufactured by Macron. The kit was designed in collaboration with Camera Moda Fashion Trust and designer Flora Rabitti. The base of the jersey is a light purple shade the club calls “thistle,” with “an irregular dye-sub pattern of white flames” on the front, back and sleeves. “The design refers to the rays of the sun,” the club says, “a symbolic image of particular significance for the city of Udine, and used on this shirt to reinforce the kit’s message of sustainability.” The collar and sleeve cuffs all have black and white stripes of equal width all the way around.


🇫🇷 OLYMPIQUE DE MARSEILLE – 125th Anniversary Kit

French Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille is celebrating their 125th anniversary with a pair of special kits, made by Puma. The white anniversary kit made its on-field debut on Saturday, September 14, in a 2-0 win over OGC Nice, and is plain white with a polo collar, a blue retro OM crest and tonal sponsor logos. The black version also has tonal logos, but the retro crest on the chest is white.

🇫🇷 OGC NICE – Third Kit

Speaking of OGC Nice, the French club released its own 2024-25 third kit, made by Le Coq Sportif, on Thursday, September 19. Calling it “a tribute to the club’s origins,” the kit is blue and black — a nod to the original colors of Gymnaste Club de Nice when it was founded in 1904 (the club switched to red and black after merging with Football Vélo Club in 1919). Tapering black shapes on the blue base create a wave effect across the jersey, with sponsor logos and the club crest in gold over top. The crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs are solid black.


🇫🇷 STADE DE REIMS – Third Kit

Elsewhere in France, Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims quietly rolled out a new third kit, made by Puma, earlier this month. The base of the shirt is white, with a pattern of gold geometric shapes across the front and sleeves. The side panels and back of the jersey are solid white, while the crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs are gold. The club crest and sponsor logos on the chest and sleeves are monochrome black.


🇫🇷 STADE BRESTOIS 29 – Champions League Home Kit

French Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois 29 make their debut in the Champions League this season, and like VfB Stuttgart, they’re marking the occasion with a special home kit for the competition. Made by Adidas, the kit is mainly red with white horizontal stripes across the front. The front of the shirt features far fewer advertisers than their Ligue 1 jerseys. The side panels and Adidas shoulder stripes are white, as are panels on either side of the collar.
