The Las Vegas Raiders will celebrate their 65th season this year with a commemorative logo, which the franchise unveiled on Monday afternoon.

The logo prominently features the outline and swords from the Raiders’ shield-shaped logo, the latter of which protrude through the Roman numerals “LXV”

Both the “L” and “V” are silver as a nod to Las Vegas, which the Raiders have called home for four years after splitting the previous 60 seasons between Oakland (1969-81, 1995-2019) and Los Angeles (1982-94).

At the bottom of the commemorative mark is the Raiders’ logo flanked by a ribbon with the years 1960 and 2024. It will presumably be worn as a jersey patch, just like the franchise did for its 50th and 60th seasons in 2009 and 2019, respectively.

The Raiders have also worn a patch for the AFL’s 25th season in 1984, the NFL’s 75th season in 1994, Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003, Gene Upshaw’s passing in 2008, the AFL’s 50th season in 2009, the 50th anniversary of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012, the 50th anniversary of their AFL championship in 2017 and their inaugural season in Las Vegas in 2020.

“The logo stands as a testament to resilience and tradition in the world of professional sports,” the Raiders said in a statement. “Since their inception in 1960, the Raiders have carved out a storied legacy, becoming synonymous with passion, grit, and an unwavering Commitment to Excellence.

“Over the decades, the Silver and Black have thrilled fans with countless memorable moments – from historic victories to iconic plays to three Super Bowl championships – that have left an indelible mark on the sport.”

The Raiders will open the 2024 season at the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 8 (4:05 p.m. ET on CBS), which is likely when the jersey patch will debut after they were not present during the 2019 preseason (2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19).
