MLB Teams Wearing USA-Themed Caps Today for Fourth of July – SportsLogos.Net News

All 30 Major League Baseball teams will wear stars-and-stripes-themed caps on-field during today’s games in honour of Independence Day in the United States.

This year, all 30 clubs will wear a cream-coloured crown, with teams again having the option of a red or navy blue visor and button. One more club went blue this season than did so last year; we’re now up to 17 wearing blue and 13 in red.

The front of each cap features the team’s standard logo, with the 29 American clubs decorated with the stars and stripes of the American flag. The lone Canadian club goes with a red and white version of its usual logo. On the right side of the cap is the secondary version of each team’s respective league logo. The undervisor, inside sweatband, and MLB logo on the back all lack additional design elements.

Here is a closer look at the general design:

Overall, the design is fairly similar to what was worn in 2010, though the cap crown is not as bright white as it was back then.

As I mentioned earlier, the Canadian-based Toronto Blue Jays will wear a slightly altered version of this design; their cap will not include the U.S. flag design on their logo, instead just a red and white version to match the colours of the Canadian flag:

Before we go, let’s take a look at the entire league:

For this season, the Detroit Tigers switched their Fourth of July Cap colour from red to navy blue. The Tigers are the first team to change their Stars and Stripes cap colour since the Tampa Bay Rays went from red in 2021 to blue in 2022.

Caps will only be worn for games played on July 4, 2024, this year. This is not a weekend-long event like it has been in previous years.
