Moto Watch 2 Fit and Moto Buds 2 Ultra launch with Polar and Bose on board

Alongside its new flagship smartphone, the Signature 27, Motorola has also announced two new wearables today. The Moto Watch 2 Fit succeeds the original Watch Fit, and for the first time in the Fit line, it comes with fitness insights powered by Polar. The Moto Buds 2 Ultra, on the other hand, sit above the Moto Buds 2 Plus as the company’s most feature-packed TWS earbuds yet.

The Moto Watch 2 Fit has a 1.85-inch OLED screen with 390×450 resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, 1,500-nit peak brightness, 2mm bezels, and Gorilla Glass 3 on top. It runs RTOS and packs a 400 mAh battery that Motorola says lasts up to 7 days with the always-on display enabled, 12 days with it off, and 16 days in low power mode. A 10-minute charge gives you up to 24 hours of use. The watch measures 42.88×38.65×9.95mm, weighs 28.1g, has an aluminum build, and is rated IP68 and 5ATM.

The Polar features include Running Index, which scores your aerobic fitness and running efficiency, as well as Nightly Recharge, Sleep Plus Stages, Serene breathing exercises, Smart Calories, Energy Sources, and Activity Intensity Zones. Motorola’s own heart rate, SpO2, and stress tracking are on board too, along with menstrual cycle tracking (a first for a Moto watch), automatic detection for over 100 workout types, and dual-frequency L1/L5 GPS. You can answer calls from your wrist over Bluetooth 5.4, and Motorola Qira support will arrive in the coming months.

The Moto Buds 2 Ultra come with Bose SoundDesign tuning and Bose QuietControl ANC, plus a transparency mode. Each earbud has an 11mm dynamic driver and a Knowles balanced armature, and supports Hi-Res Audio, Dolby Atmos, and Dolby Head Tracking with compatible Motorola phones. Codec support covers SBC, AAC, LHDC 4, and LHDC 5, over Bluetooth 6.0. There are three microphones and a voice pickup unit in each bud, which Motorola is pitching at content creators and podcasters.

Battery life is rated at up to 8 hours per charge, or 37 hours total with the case. Motorola doesn’t say if either of these numbers are with ANC on or off, so we’d assume the latter. A 10-minute charge gives you up to 3 hours of playback. The case supports Qi2 wireless charging, and both the buds and the case are IP57-rated. You also get AI Live Translate, head gestures for answering or declining calls, Dual Connection, Audio Share, Find Hub integration, and access to Motorola Qira with a long press on the left earbud. A “Hey Qira” wake word is going to become available in the coming months.

Moto Buds 2 Ultra in Pantone Temple Gray

The Moto Watch 2 Fit comes in Pantone Tracing Gray and Pantone Elegance casings, with Pantone Stratified Sea, Pantone Pigeon, and Pantone Ballerina straps, and it starts at €119. The Moto Buds 2 Ultra come in Pantone Temple Gray and Pantone Reflecting Pond for €199. Both will roll out in select countries across Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, North America, and Asia-Pacific in the coming weeks.
