Google has already sent the Android 15 code to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), but it hasn’t released an update for its supported Pixels yet. That has been rumored to arrive next month, and today we finally have a purported release date.
According to a new report, Google will start the over-the-air rollout of the Android 15 update for Pixels on October 15. This report also comes with the caveat that things could still change from now until then, especially if some show-stopping bugs are found in the meantime.
Android 15 will be available for the Pixel 6 and newer devices. Hopefully with the delayed release (compared to AOSP), what comes out will be fully baked and devoid of any glaring issues.
Android 15 will also roll out to the new Pixel 9 devices, which were announced in August, breaking with the tradition of unveiling new Pixels in October. Thus, the Pixel 9 models came with Android 14 on board on day one and will get Android 15 on October 15 (how fitting) just like every other supported Pixel.
