The Carolina Panthers will wear silver pants with their white road jerseys for just the second time in franchise history when they travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons on Sunday (1 p.m. ET on FOX).
The only other time the Panthers wore this combination, which also includes their standard silver helmets, was in a season-ending 27-19 win at the Indianapolis Colts in 1998, though the look was complete with Process blue socks instead of white.
Carolina has become more experimental with its uniform combinations this season, wearing unique designs in three games, including black helmets with Process blue jerseys and pants in a 38-20 loss to the Falcons on Oct. 13.
The Panthers also wore black helmets with Process blue jerseys and black pants in a 20-17 win over the New York Giants in Germany on Nov. 10 and silver helmets, black jerseys and Process blue pants in a 26-23 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Dec. 1.
Aside from the aforementioned 1998 game, the Panthers had only worn white pants with their white jerseys from their inaugural season in 1995 until 2018, when they started to wear black pants with white jerseys at least once every season.
Process blue pants then became an option on the road in 2023 after being initially worn as part of Carolina’s original Color Rush design from 2015-17, which means the Panthers now have four different pants choices on the road moving forward.
