Dodgers Release Gold Collection in Time for Opening Weekend – SportsLogos.Net News

Keeping with recent tradition, the Los Angeles Dodgers will celebrate their 2024 World Series championship with gold uniform elements when the 2025 Major League Baseball season begins.

The Dodgers officially released their “Gold Collection” late last week, featuring jerseys, caps and other apparel celebrating their championship win.

Technically, the Dodgers’ season began last week with a pair of wins over the Chicago Cubs in Tokyo, Japan. But when they’re back at Dodger Stadium this weekend to take on the Detroit Tigers, they’ll be sporting white jerseys with a gold wordmark with a blue outline across the chest above gold numbers with a red outline. Names and numbers on the back will be gold with blue outlines. A commemorative patch is affixed to the right sleeve.

The Dodgers’ caps will have a gold “LA” logo on the front, along with a gold New Era logo on the left side, a gold MLB logo on the back and a gold squatchee on top. A “World Series Champions” logo is embroidered on the right side.

The gold elements with blue and red outlines are the reverse of what the Dodgers wore in 2021 to celebrate their 2020 World Series win. That year, the wordmark, numbers and cap logo remained their usual colours, but had gold outlines added.

Jerseys are available with several players’ names and numbers on the back. But, for Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani, Fanatics and the Dodgers are offering a special version with Ohtani’s name in a kanji script.

Speaking of Ohtani, this won’t be the only gold on his jersey this season. The reigning National League MVP is one of six MLB players who will wear gold MLB logos on the back collar of their jerseys all year long in recognition of their major award win in 2024. Other players with gold logos are:

• American League MVP Aaron Judge
• NL Cy Young Award winner Chris Sale
• AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal
• NL Rookie of the Year Paul Skenes
• AL Rookie of the Year Luis Gil

It’s not clear yet exactly in which game (or games) the Dodgers will wear the uniforms with gold elements. Their home opener is Thursday, March 27, but their World Series ring ceremony will take place on Friday, March 28.
