Four USL Championship Clubs Unveil Charly Jerseys for 2025 Season – SportsLogos.Net News

With the start of the 2025 USL Championship season right around the corner, teams are rolling out their new kits, including four clubs outfitted by Mexican manufacturer Charly who launched new kits over the past week.

Along with North Carolina FC — whose kit launch we covered earlier this week — other teams unveiling Charly-made kits over the past few days included Monterey Bay FC, San Antonio FC, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and Oakland Roots SC.

The USL Championship is the second tier of American professional soccer, a step below Major League Soccer. The 2025 USL season kicks off on Saturday, March 8, with 22 of the league’s 24 teams in action, including two all-Charly matchups: North Carolina FC hosts Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, while San Antonio FC squares off against Monterey Bay FC.

Here’s a closer look at each of the kits released over the past week:

OAKLAND ROOTS SC

While the 2024 Oakland Roots SC primary kit will carry over to 2025, the club’s new secondary kit borrows the green and gold colour scheme of the dearly departed Oakland Athletics in “a tribute to Oakland’s rich sports history. It reclaims our city’s colors and creates a new chapter of sports magic in Oakland,” according to a press release. An embossed roots design covers the front of the jersey, while the Oakland Coliseum’s logo appears on the jock tag and the stadium’s coordinates are printed inside the collar.

PITTSBURGH RIVERHOUNDS SC

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds’ new home kits are “a throwback to the black-and-yellow hoops worn by
the team during some of their most successful seasons, most recently their 2023 Players’ Shield-winning campaign,” according to a press release. “But more than simple stripes, the jerseys carry a subtle checkered pattern on both the front and back, with two tones of yellow and black meshing to form a uniquely Pittsburgh look.”

The away kit, meanwhile features the same yellow and gray coloring the Riverhounds have used in recent seasons, but incorporates them into “a full-jersey checked pattern that is unique to any kit of the Hounds’ previous 25 seasons.”

SAN ANTONIO FC

The defining feature of San Antonio FC’s new black primary kit is the outline of the San Antonio Riverwalk that flows across the front of the jersey. “Diagonal striping gives the kit a textured depth, while also paying tribute to kits of the past,” the club says.

The white secondary kit, meanwhile, “embraces the bright, lively colors of the city’s Fiesta festival tradition.” The shades of teal, pink and orange in the pinstripes and side panels are the same used by the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs; both teams are owned by Spurs Sports and Entertainment.

MONTEREY BAY FC

Monterey Bay FC — which is based in Seaside, California — draws inspiration from the coastline of the Monterey Peninsula for its 2025 primary and secondary kits. The primary kit is “kelp blue” with white sleeves and “is inspired by the iconic and breathtaking rocky coastlines that define the Monterey Bay and run south along the Pacific Ocean to Big Sur.”

The secondary kit, meanwhile, showcases the club’s signature “crisp blue” color. It also “features two wave-like designs reminiscent of the waves on the club’s crest and includes Kelp blue trim on the sleeves and collar.”
