Huawei had a major launch event yesterday where we got the four-strong Mate 70 series, the Mate X6 foldable and the new MatePad Pro 13.2. Those weren’t the only new devices to take the stage as we also got the brand-new FreeBuds Pro 4 – Huawei’s flagship TWS earbuds and a new Sapphire Gold Edition of the Huawei Watch Ultimate Design
Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 are the first TWS buds from the brand to launch with the new HarmonyOS Next operating system. When paired with a HarmonyOS 4.3 or newer Huawei device, FreeBuds Pro 4 can achieve 2.3 Mbps lossless audio transmission with 48 kHz/24-bit audio.
FreeBuds Pro 4 support L2HC 4.0, HWA Lossless and Hi-Res Wireless certifications. Huawei teamed up with the Central Conservatory of Music for sound tuning on the dual 11mm acoustic drivers inside the FreeBuds Pro 4.
Huawei also claims up to 100dB in noise reduction, which is way higher than that of most TWS buds with ANC. The three-stage memory ear tips play a key role in creating a proper seal around your ear canal. Huawei is also boasting class-leading call noise cancelation and spatial audio support.
FreeBuds Pro 4 brings Huawei’s in-house Kirin A2 chip and works via Bluetooth 5.2, and supports multi-device pairing. Huawei also added head tracking with the buds being able to pick up head movements so you can answer a call by nodding or reject it by shaking your head.
The buds are IP54-rated. Huawei claims you can get up to 7 hours of listening on a single charge and up to 33 hours with the charging case.
FreeBuds Pro 4 come in Obsidian Black, Snow White, and Spruce Green colors. Pricing is set at CNY 1,499 ($208).
The new Sapphire Gold Watch Ultimate is priced at an eye-watering CNY 23,999 ($3,320).
