Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles Unveil Uniforms For Super Bowl LIX – SportsLogos.Net News

The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles announced on Tuesday they’ll be wearing their road and home uniforms, respectively, during Super Bowl LIX, which takes place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 9 (6:30 p.m. on FOX).

This creates a visual rematch of Super Bowl LVII in Arizona, which featured the Chiefs – who won 38-35 – in their red helmets, white jerseys and red pants against the Eagles in the midnight green helmets and jerseys with white pants.

Kansas City is 1-1 in the Super Bowl in white jerseys, including a loss to the Green Bay Packers in the first AFL-NFL World Championship Game, retroactively known as Super Bowl I, though the team notably wore white pants in that game, though.

Philadelphia, meanwhile, has worn its home uniform in all four previous Super Bowl appearances (1-3), including losses to the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XV and New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX and a win over the Patriots in Super Bowl LII.

One thing working in the Chiefs’ favor is that the team in white has won 16 of the last 20 Super Bowls, and that they represent two of the four victories for teams wearing their home uniforms, beating the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV and LVIII – though the also Eagles wore midnight green in Super Bowl LII.

Additionally, the teams in white are 7-3 in Super Bowls played in New Orleans, with victories in Super Bowl VI, Super Bowl IX, Super Bowl XII, Super Bowl XV, Super Bowl XX, Super Bowl XXIV and Super Bowl XLVII, with the Eagles losing Super Bowl XV in their home look.
