The Kansas City Chiefs will look to capture an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl title when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, which kicks off at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans at 6:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
In the two weeks since the matchup was set, we’ve covered the game from every uniform-related angle imaginable, and so, we’ve compiled our stories in one place to help you, our readers, be the smartest person in the room at your Super Bowl party.
The Chiefs will wear red helmets, white jerseys and red pants against the Eagles, who will wear their midnight green helmets and jerseys over white pants, creating a visual rematch of Super Bowl LVII in Arizona.
Kansas City is looking to improve to 2-1 in its white road jersey in the Super Bowl, while Philadelphia has only worn its home uniform in its previous Super Bowl appearances, going 1-3 in those matchups.
The Chiefs have worn a patch on the left shoulder of their jerseys since the 2007 season in honor of late founder Lamar Hunt, who was also the founder of the American Football League, which merged with the NFL in 1970.
Two years after unveiling a new wordmark and displaying it in their end zones, as well as in the end zone of the previous Super Bowl appearance in 2023, the Eagles finally added it to their jerseys this season.
Often imitated but never duplicated, we’re the only site dedicated to the complete logo and uniform history of the Chiefs and Eagles. And while you’re here, make sure to view every other team in the NFL, as well as a plethora of other sports.
Similarly, our site has a complete list of every Super Bowl logo (including those that went unused), field design and program, dating back to the first AFL-NFL World Championship Game, which is retroactively known as Super Bowl I.
New Orleans is hosting the Super Bowl for a record-tying 11th time. We took a look back at the logos that were used and the uniforms that were worn in the previous games.
The turf at Caesars Superdome will look almost identical to the field at State Farm Stadium for Super Bowl LVII, aside from the Super Bowl LIX logo at the 25-yard lines.
The league will replace the words with the phrase “Chose Love” based on “sensitivity to recent tragedies,” including the recent terrorist attack in New Orleans, wildfires in Los Angeles and the midair collision in Washington D.C.
We poked holes in the theory that the Super Bowl logo predicts the participants, though Super Bowl LVI through LIX all featured two teams that shared a color with the logo.
