The Kenosha Kingfish, a collegiate summer level baseball team in the Northwoods League, unveiled an alternate identity for the 2025 season that highlights the strong Italian roots in their hometown of Kenosha, Wisconsin. The team will play as the Kenosha Bombers, a tribute to a staple of Wisconsin’s local Italian-American cuisine, the meatball bomber sub.
The brand, created by graphic designer Tony Horning, features the colors of the Italian flag and an anthropomorphic Mr. Meatball wielding an Italian roll like a baseball bat. The uniforms evoke the telltale checkmarks of canvas tablecloths found in sandwich and pizza shops.
“There’s many ways to prepare a meatball, but we think that they are best served over the fence,” the team said in a statement.
The Bombers will debut on Saturday, July 26, on Italian Heritage Night.
