From all of us at Capcom, we hope you have been enjoying Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, a unique experience that combines signature Capcom action with thought-provoking strategy, all set in a rich world with striking character, monster, and environment designs.
We’re happy to share that Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess has reached 500,000 total players worldwide! Thank you to all our players on Xbox that have joined the fight to purge Mt. Kafuku! As a thank you, we’re giving three new Mazo Talismans – Jubilee, Dancing Crane, and Amaterasu – to all players for free! Equip these on the main character, Soh, for some special effects during gameplay. And if you’re a brand-new player just discovering Kunitsu-Gami for the first time, these new items will be ready for you right away.
Here’s a quick rundown of the new Mazo Talismans:
Mazo Talisman: Jubilee – the villagers near the player start dancing.
Mazo Talisman: Dancing Crane –normal attacks are replaced by dancing. Fireworks light up when using dance attacks.
Okami Mazo Talisman: Amaterasu – flowers bloom at Soh’s feet while moving.
Our latest update also adds a sorting function when equipping Mazo Talismans, which has been highly requested!
We’ve also released our first Behind-the-Scenes video, showcasing the craft and attention to detail from the development team at Capcom. In the video, you’ll see and hear directly from the developers about how they created miniatures and reference materials in the real world to bring the game’s elements and effects to life. With 3D-scanning technology, the team combined analog and digital elements to create the game’s unique visual look.
If this is your first-time hearing about Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, allow us to introduce you to this one-of-a-kind game. You play as the protagonist Soh, who serves as the guardian for the Maiden of the mountain, Yoshiro. The game takes place on Mt. Kafuku, which holds multiple Torii gates scattered along its mountainside. The mountain becomes overtaken by defilement, causing the Torrii gates to act as gateways for dangerous creatures known as the Seethe. It’s up to our protagonists Soh and Yoshiro to purge the defilement and restore Mt. Kafuku’s villages and the people that inhabit it.
If you want to know more about the unique interplay between action, strategy, and even town rebuilding in Kunitsu-Gami, you can read much more on Xbox Wire.
