The Las Vegas Raiders have added a decal to the back of their helmets in honor of late Hall of Fame center Jim Otto, who passed away in May at the age of 86.

The decal, which made its debut in Saturday’s preseason opener at the Minnesota Vikings, looks exactly like the decal Las Vegas has worn in honor of late owner Al Davis since 2011.

It features a black shield – the same shape as the Raiders’ iconic logo – with Otto’s famed No. 00 in a silver block font, matching their black home jerseys.

The decal is displayed on the left rear of Las Vegas’ helmets, while the Davis memorial sits to the right of the black stripe that goes down the center of their silver lids.

It will presumably be worn for the entire season, as the Raiders similarly honored late Hall of Fame coach John Madden with a helmet decal following his passing in December 2021.

Otto, who was affectionately known as “Mr. Raider,” did not miss a game (308 consecutive starts) during his 15-year career with the then-Oakland Raiders from 1960-74.

He was a 12-time AFL All-Star/Pro Bowler, 10-time All-AFL/All-Pro selection and led the Raiders to an appearance in Super Bowl II, where they lost to the Green Bay Packers.

Otto was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980, his first year of eligibility. He was also named to the AFL All-Time Team in 1970 and NFL 100th Anniversary Team in 2019.
