New Orleans Saints To Wear Original Color Rush Uniforms On Monday Night Football – SportsLogos.Net News

The New Orleans Saints will wear their Color Rush uniforms with their standard gold helmets during tonight’s game at the Green Bay Packers, which kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN.

The uniforms, which were introduced during the 2016 season, feature a traditional striping pattern on the sleeves and old gold numbers, matching what the Saints wore on the road from 1967-68. 

Though they pull inspiration from their original design, the uniforms also include white pants with black and old gold stripes down the side instead of old gold pants to complete the Color Rush look. 

New Orleans went 8-6 in this combination through the 2021 season but began wearing the uniforms with black helmets after the NFL rescinded its one-helmet rule the following year. 

The Saints proceeded to go 0-3 in the black helmets, so they brought back the gold helmets for their 30-22 loss at the Los Angeles Rams last December in an attempt to end that streak.

This will mark the second appearance for the Color Rush uniforms this season, meanwhile, as they were also worn with black helmets in a 26-13 loss at the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 7.

That brought the Saints’ overall record in their Color Rush uniforms to 8-11, including 8-7 with gold helmets and 0-4 with black helmets, as they’ve dropped their last five games in this set.

The Packers, on the other hand, will counter with their standard home uniforms of gold helmets, green jerseys and gold pants this evening. They are 4-2 in this combination this season, including 4-1 at Lambeau Field.
