Two European soccer clubs unveiled new home kits for 2024-25 on Wednesday, and both are sticking with tradition.

Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad unveiled their new home kits, made by Macron, ahead of a friendly against Japanese side Tokyo Verdy in Japan, while defending Scottish Premiership champions Celtic FC also launched their kits on the same day.

After getting experimental with three-dimensional stripes last season, Real Sociedad have opted for a much more conservative look in 2024-25. The home kit features Sociedad’s traditional blue and white vertical stripes on the front and sleeves. The polo collar is blue with white laces at the front, while the sleeve cuffs are solid blue.

The 24-25 home kit honors the jerseys from the first half of the 20th century, showcasing a distinct retro style with three wide blue stripes and a vintage polo-style collar with laces, reminiscent of uniforms from that era.

The club crest on the chest is embroidered, as is a Basque flag on the back collar. The middle blue stripe on the back of the shirt is truncated to allow for name and number legibility.

The shirts were pictured in Wednesday’s announcement with solid white shorts and with white shorts that have blue cuffs and two blue stripes around the calf.

Meanwhile, Celtic have stuck with their famous green-and-white hoops but added a couple of small modern twists. A darker shade of green has been introduced for the swoops up the side of the jersey that follow the newest Adidas template, as well as for the Adidas shoulder stripes.

Most of the crew neck collar — save for a white portion at the front — is dark green with a lighter green celtic knot pattern “which represents the unity of the club’s players and fans” woven into the fabric.

The shorts that go with the shirt are also with dark green swoops up the side that match up with those on the shirt. The socks are solid white with dark green cuffs and a lighter green triangle at the back. “CELTIC” is written out in green across the front.
