Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold Slim will be equipped with a cover display boasting the same aspect ratio as the Galaxy S24 Ultra‘s screen – 19.5:9. This information comes from China courtesy of prolific leakster Ice Universe.
While the aspect ratio will be the same, the new Fold’s outer screen will be smaller than the S24 Ultra’s, at 6.5″. Inside, an 8-inch folding display will do the job. Both of these panels are larger than the ones found in the Galaxy Z Fold6, which Samsung announced earlier this month.
The Galaxy Z Fold Slim is the device previously rumored to be called Galaxy Z Fold Ultra. It is apparently going to sport a titanium frame, and will be both thinner and lighter than the Fold6. Thus, it will be a premium, even more expensive folding smartphone from the Korean company.
It’s expected to arrive in the fourth quarter, so between October and December, but it’s still unclear where it will launch. Some rumors pointed to it only being available in Korea and China, but Ice Universe says the Slim is not to be confused with the Samsung W25, a dedicated foldable for the Chinese market. As time goes by, more details should be leaked, so stay tuned.
