Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera specs ‘confirmed’ by new rumor

Xiaomi’s 15 Ultra will be very much focused on the cameras, pun absolutely intended. Today a new rumor from a tipster on X reiterates the device’s camera setup, which we’ve already heard of before. Still, this ‘confirmation’ of sorts does help cement the idea that the phone will really ship with these cameras.

So, let’s take a look. The 50 MP main shooter will be using Sony’s 1-inch type Lytia LYT-900 sensor. The 50 MP ultrawide will use Samsung’s ISOCELL JN5 sensor. The 50 MP 3x optical zoom telephoto camera will use Sony’s IMX858 sensor, and finally, the main upgrade – the 200 MP 4.3x optical zoom periscope telephoto camera will use Samsung’s ISOCELL HP9 sensor, that was popularized by vivo in the X100 Ultra and X200 Pro.

That’s arguably as high-end as you can go in terms of cameras at this point in time, so, hardware-wise, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra really won’t have any competition whatsoever. Of course, hardware is only one side of the camera equation, with software and processing being the other. We can’t wait to get our hands on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and put it to the test to see what it can do.

The device has also been rumored to sport the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 6,000 mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. It will of course run Android 15 from day one, with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0 on top. The phone could be getting official in China on February 26, followed by a global introduction only a few days later at MWC in Barcelona.
